I am back
This has been the longest time I’ve been back at my parents house since my dad’s passing.
I’m often here for a short period of time, but not as long as this.
To say that this an emotional moment, is an understatement
I see him everywhere. I see him in his office taking business calls, I see him sitting in the chair in the kitchen reaching his iPad. I see him laying on the couch listening to his meditation tapes. I see him in the chair by the pool with my mom watching the dogs play.
I see him in the sun beaming through the windows.
I’ve always been drawn to music and it has probably been the most healing for my journey.
This song in particular, encapsulates all of my emotions at once. A daylight of reminiscing and grief. A reflection of what was and what is to become.
A hope that seems almost shrouded by darkness but yet a light peaks around the corner.
I listen to this song as I grieve. I listen to this to feel at peace but also sadness. I listen to this to feel happy and also frustrated.
A reflection that is needed when I’m back here.
